Application Management

After purchasing a camera, you can develop third-party applications based on the camera software platform and install third-party or Huawei applications on the camera.

Prerequisites

You have inserted an SD card into the camera before installing an application. If no SD card is inserted, the application may fail to be installed due to insufficient camera flash memory. After an SD card is inserted, if the camera flash memory is insufficient and the SD card is normal, the application is installed on the SD card.

Obtaining an Application

  • Before installing a third-party or Huawei application, obtain related software package first.
    • Huawei application: Log in to the Huawei technical support website, search for the desired camera model, click Software Download, and download the product software package for the camera model. For details about the applications and their functions, see Table 1.
    • Third-party application: Log in to the HoloSens Store, search for and download the required application, and apply for the license.
      NOTE:

The procedure for uploading the license of a third-party application is the same as that for installing an application. You need to upload the installation file first and upload the license after the installation is complete.

  • When installing a third-party application, install the TAR file of the application and then the license.lic.tar file. You can install applications under System Maintenance > App. You can also use the iClient SDC to install applications. For details about how to install an application using the iClient SDC, see the iClient SDC Product Documentation. For details about how to obtain the document, see Obtaining Documentation and Software.
NOTE:
  • The applications that can be installed vary depending on the camera model. For example, its_app can be installed only on ITS cameras.
  • Compatible third-party applications are developed by vendors other than Huawei. The design and development of these applications must comply with the SDC XXX APP development guide, which can be obtained from the path of the corresponding camera model at the Huawei technical support website.

Function

Whether a License Is Required

Video-based vehicle detector platform

SDC-ZZZ_XXX_TXProcess_YYY.rpm.tar

Connects to a video-based vehicle detector platform.

NOTE:

The software package of the video-based vehicle detector platform must be of the same version as the camera software. Otherwise, the software package is unavailable.

No

Dahua vehicle checkpoint platform

SDC-ZZZ_XXX_XiamenVehicle_YYY.rpm.tar

Applies to cameras that support vehicle detection and recognition and allows these cameras to connect to the Dahua vehicle checkpoint platform.

No

GA/T 1400 protocol

SDC-ZZZ_XXX_GAT1400_YYY.rpm

Applies to cameras that support the GA/T 1400 protocol to set platform connection parameters.

NOTE:
  • After the GA/T 1400 protocol is installed, it is not displayed as an application. Instead, the original web tab page is updated.
  • This application has been preset in the basic software package and does not need to be installed again.

No

GB/T 28181 protocol

SDC-ZZZ_XXX_GB28181_YYY.rpm

Applies to cameras that support the GB/T 28181 protocol to set platform connection parameters.

NOTE:
  • After the GB/T 28181 protocol is installed, it is not displayed as an application. Instead, the original web tab page is updated.
  • This application has been preset in the basic software package and does not need to be installed again.

No

NOTE:

In the application package name, ZZZ indicates the primary processor type, XXX indicates the version number, and YYY indicates the processor architecture type.

For example, SDC-M19_XXX_TXProcess_YYY.rpm.tar indicates that the application package applies to devices whose processor type is Hi3519A V100.

Installation Procedure

  1. Log in to the camera web system (https://Camera IP address).
  2. Choose Configuration > System > System Maintenance > App. The App tab page is displayed, as shown in Figure 1.

    NOTE:
Before installing a third-party algorithm, you need to perform the following steps to ensure that the algorithm can be properly installed or used in case of insufficient space:
    • Click Clear Space to delete non-required algorithms and applications from the camera's flash memory to ensure that sufficient flash space is reserved for installation.
    • Select an unnecessary third-party application and click to delete it.

  3. Click New. The dialog box for uploading installation files is displayed, as shown in Figure 2.

    NOTE:
    • You can click New and upload an application of the same name but a later version to upgrade the application. After the application is upgraded, the application version is displayed in the Version column.
    • You can click New and upload an application patch of the same name and version to install the patch. After the patch is installed, the patch information is displayed in the Patch List column.

  4. Click Browse and select a local application file.
  5. Click Resource Allocation and set Max. CPU usage and Max. memory usage.

    SDC Configuring resource allocation
    NOTE:
    • If an application file is installed for the first time and Max. CPU usage or Max. memory usage is set to 0, the maximum CPU or memory usage in the configuration file of the application is used (or the maximum CPU or memory usage is not limited if the maximum CPU or memory usage is not configured in the configuration file). Exercise caution when setting Max. CPU usage and Max. memory usage to avoid affecting application running.
    • If an application file of the same name but a different version is installed to overwrite the original application file and Max. CPU usage or Max. memory usage is set to 0, the maximum CPU or memory usage in the original file is used.

  6. Click Install to install the application file.
  7. Toggle-on the icon in the Operation column after the installation is successful to enable the application.
